Volunteer Information

Come help us succeed, in and out of the water!

HTAC relies on volunteers for many parts of the club experience—from governance and social events to competitions.

All HTAC member families have an annual volunteer points requirement. If points are not earned by the end of the season, unearned points are billed at $50 per point.

Become an Official

Swim meets require up to 40 volunteers per session. Officials have a great view of the action, meet swimmers & officials from across clubs, and enjoy a hospitality suite with food and drink. Senior officials from Nova Scotia also have opportunities to travel to major national and international events!

To learn more and get registered, email officials@htac.ca. Earn points for each session on deck and for advancing certification levels (Officials Certification System).

Sign Up for Jobs

The volunteer opportunities spreadsheet explains how to express interest in each role. Event-specific jobs usually have a signup on our website—click the Job Sign Up button on the event page to see openings.

To officiate: signing up on the website is for volunteer point tracking only. You must also email the meet contact shared by our Chair of Officials and copy officials@htac.ca. If you email the meet contact and work your shift, your points will be allocated even if you didn’t sign up on htac.ca.
