Chris Cormier

In his second season as head coach for the Halifax Trojan Aquatic Club, Chris brings 14 years of coaching experience, ranging from pre-competitive to national levels in both Ontario and Nova Scotia. His background also includes roles at Swimming Canada and Own The Podium, giving him opportunities at major events such as the Olympic Games, Paralympic Games, and World Junior Swimming Championships.

With a passion for success, Chris envisions a bright future for Halifax. His coaching philosophy centers on excelling in technical swimming, fostering teamwork, and cultivating positive environments. Chris prioritizes quality over quantity, aiming to develop well-rounded individuals as skilled swimmers and teammates. 

Outside the pool, Chris resides in Bedford, Nova Scotia, with his wife Ashley, sons Maxwell & Leo, and Basset Hound Beau!

Lauren Mosher (she/they)

In their third season with the Halifax Trojans, Lauren brings a decade of swimming and coaching experience including B.C summer clubs, various school swim programs, winter age groups, and Varsity. 

A passion for swimming brought Lauren to Dalhousie University. There, they pursued a double degree in Recreation Management and continued their swim career, where they became a two-time USport qualifier. After retiring, Lauren continued their involvement in the swim community through work with Swim Nova Scotia and as the Dalhousie Swimming Team Manager.

Lauren firmly believes swimming is a sport that builds good people. They prefer a holistic coaching approach that promotes skills for long-term participation. Lauren's coaching philosophy is to "have fun working hard, but don't work hard having fun."

Off the pool deck, Lauren enjoys listening to vinyl records, frequenting local coffee shops, and playing roller derby!

Lauren was a Halifax Trojan coach back in 2016/2017 when she first moved to Halifax, and we are excited for her return this season!

Lauren brings 15 years of swim coaching experience, and a plethora of swimming knowledge. Since she began coaching, Lauren has accquired experience in competitive swimming, lifeguarding, open-water, waterpolo, diving, and swimming lessons.

The past four years, Lauren coached at the Dartmouth Crusaders where she helped athletes progress through AA and AAA qualifiers and rank provincially. At the Lifesaving Society, Lauren helped coach high performance athletes to a second place team finish at Nationals.

Lauren has a positive and enthusiastic coaching style which focuses on athlete-centered development emphasizing the importance of mentorship, motivation, communication, work ethic and mental attitude along with progressive skills and technique stability.

You can't keep Lauren out of the water -- she is frequently participating in other aquatic sports, or at the beach.

Daniel Sutherland

Daniel is very excited to be entering his third season coaching with the Trojans!

He began coaching with the Bedford Beavers in 2021 and has worked with athletes aged 4-18 at varying levels. In addition to his work with the Trojans, Daniel has been involved with several different clubs, including coaching with the Waeg Waves and serving as one of the Head Coaches of the Bedford Beavers Swim Team for the 2024 season.

Daniel’s coaching philosophy is anchored in his values of respect, support, communication, and learning. He strives to create a positive training and competition environment that emphasizes technical excellence, hard work, creativity, and fun.

Daniel is currently a full-time student at Dalhousie, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics. Outside of swimming, he enjoys skiing, playing the piano, and listening to music.

Isaac Bahler

Isaac is returning for his second season with the Halifax Trojans.

Isaac brings six years of coaching experience from Red Deer Catalina Swim Club, Weagwoltic Swim Club. Halifax Trojans Aquatic Club and Woody's Triathlon.

Isaac's coaching philosophy focuses on athlete engagement and process improvement. He believes everybody capable of reaching their goals, and desired results come from fostering a culture that promotes skill improvement, rather than the end result.

Isaac competes for Dalhousie Men's Varisty Swim Team specializing in the butterfly events, and enjoys reading in his free time.

Ava Green

Ava is very excited to be returning for her second season with the Halifax Trojans!

Ava was a competitive swimmer for over ten years with the Calgary Patriots Swim Club and has been coaching with them and the Halifax Trojans Aquatic Club for the past three years.

Ava enjoys creating an environment full of positivity and excitement where she can share her lifelong love and passion for swimming with other young athletes.

Ava recently completed her first year at Dalhousie university majoring in Political Science honors. In her free time she enjoys swimming in the ocean, spending time with  family and friends, painting, and broadcasting her radio show!

Zane Beauregard

Zane brings a decade of competitive swimming and three years of coaching experience with him from the North York Aquatic Club.

Most recently, this Ontarian worked for a Rehabilitation Center teaching children, youth, and adults, including those with disabilities, how to swim.

Zane believes in creating a supportive, inclusive and fun environment, fostering technical skill development and a lifelong passion for swimming. 

Outside of coaching, Zane enjoys water sports and outdoor activities. He is a certified PADI Scuba Diver, and spends his free time with family and friends, and staying active both in and out of the water.
